INTRODUCTION

The meaning of the term Fashion can be different depending on how you use the term.
Fashion is the form of clothing, accessories, and furniture. It can be used by everyone. It is related to culture,it is an individual art of self expression. 

POPULAR FASHION STATEMENT AND THEIR ORIGIN STATE.

DENIM: Denim was created in the a French city called Nimes by Jacob .W. Davis and Levi Strauss. ailors began weaving cotton together in a unique way, in which the weft passes under two or more warp threads, resulting in a reinforced fabric.

The outer warped threads were dyed blue or indigo and the inner weft thread was left in the original white colour. Denim was worn by workers because of their durability till the 1930's.

GELE: In Nigeria, the gele is a head tie popularly worn by the Yoruba people - one of the numerous ethnic groups in Nigeria. This gele can be worn as part of  an every day outfit but is mostly worn for special occasions such as wedding (owanbe), parties etc. But wearing of head tie is traditional for all Nigerians and African cultures.

DREADLOCKS: Some accounts state that the dread locks were originated from India from the diety Shiva and his followers but the dreadlocks which are symbols of spiritual intent, and are a statement of non-violent are said to have originated from both the Germanic tribes and the Vikings.
